Wuu-rri Vending Machine Program Outcomes
30 September 2024

The Waratah Super Battery (WSB) project is making impressive strides in supporting Indigenous businesses, as highlighted by the second-quarter report on the Wuu-rri vending machines installed on-site. The second quarter saw contributions totaling $3,156, combined with the first quarter's $2,526, bringing the year-to-date contributions to $5,682. This financial support is a direct benefit to Indigenous business through the Wuu-rri vending machine initiative.
The first vending machines were installed in November 2023, with one drink and one snack machine placed on the WSB site. Due to overwhelming demand, a second drink machine was added in February, followed by a second snack machine in May. This growing need reflects both the popularity of the vending services and the increasing workforce on the site.
The WSB project’s contributions have far surpassed the original projections made when the Wuu-rri vending machine initiative was first implemented. This success is a significant achievement, not only for the Indigenous business community but also for the WSB project, as it aligns with (our EPC contractor) CPP's ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
This success highlights the WSB project’s role in driving both economic and social benefits, creating a win-win scenario for the company and the community. It is a clear testament to the value of partnering with Indigenous-led businesses and fostering local economic growth through sustainability-focused initiatives.
