We are excited to announce two commissioned artworks by Charlie Chambers (Jnr), an Aboriginal artist from the Jarowair tribe. Connected to the Toowoomba, Dalby, and Bunya Mountain regions, Charlie’s art beautifully reflects his rich cultural heritage. Through the use of traditional symbols and storytelling, his work honours the deep relationship between people, Country, and community.

First Painting: This piece portrays the connection between past and present generations as they move through the Bunya Mountains. The Bunya cone, a powerful symbol, represents the cultural significance of the Bunya tree, a central meeting point where people gather to share stories and strengthen connections.

Second Painting: In this artwork, the Bunya Mountains are depicted as a traditional meeting place under the sun. It features the grey wallaby and emu, iconic wildlife that inhabits the land. The painting also acknowledges Chinchilla, a key location along the annual journey to the Bunya festival, an important event for First Nations peoples. The artwork celebrates families working together, embodying unity and the continuation of shared traditions.
