Akaysha Energy is proud to have sponsored the 150th Anniversary celebration at the Clarendon Recreation Reserve, held on Saturday, 19th October 2024. After two days of much-needed rain, the clouds cleared just in time for the event, which kicked off at 11:00 am and brought together over 120 community members and former residents from as far as Alice Springs, Tasmania, and New South Wales.

The day was filled with a strong sense of community, history, and celebration. Local Member of Parliament and representatives from DEECA and the Community Bank gave heartfelt speeches, followed by a BBQ lunch and historical display at the community center. Moorabool Shire Councillors were also in attendance, although unable to speak due to caretaker mode during ongoing elections.

One of the event's highlights was the planting of commemorative trees along the 200-meter driveway to the reserve. Our sponsorship ensured tree guards and plaques were provided, with 44 trees purchased by former and current residents prior to the event, and an additional 6 sold on the day. The plaques bear the names of residents, making this a lasting tribute to the families who have called Clarendon home.
