Brendale Mural: Where It's Kind Of Fun Doing The Impossible
11 December 2024

Akaysha Energy invites artist proposals for a large-scale mural as part of the Brendale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
Akaysha Energy is enhancing its Brendale BESS site, located off South Pine Road, with the installation of a 50-metre-long, 8-metre-high Noise Wall, designed to minimise acoustic impacts on neighbouring properties and the Wantima Golf Course. To further enrich the visual appeal of this key structure, a mural will be commissioned, with painting scheduled shortly after the wall’s completion in February 2025.
We’re seeking creative, bold designs that complement the local aesthetic while aligning with the themes of sustainability, innovation, and community. Given the mural’s scale, we envision clean, modern patterns inspired by renewable energy, nature, or local stories.
First Nations artists are strongly encouraged to apply. Akaysha Energy values the unique perspectives of Indigenous art and storytelling and welcomes proposals celebrating local culture, history, and the enduring connection to the land.
Submission Details
Interested artists can submit their Expressions of Interest, showcasing their ideas and portfolio. Proposals should reflect the vibrancy of the Brendale community and its natural environment, contributing positively to the public space.
